Developer George Hotz has recently launched the Purplera1n jailbreak software for 3GS that appears to work perfectly. A Mac model of the software is said to be “coming in the near future.” The author warns that the Jailbreak is a beta, so you should backup any critical info before attempting to crack the

The software runs on Microsoft Windows XP and Vista®, and additionally requires iTunes 8.2 and iPhone® 3.0.
